Thanksgiving Celebration

On Thanksgiving eve, my mom and I got together. She prepared a  wonderful pre Thanksgiving dinner that we shared over a movie. We paused the movie when we finished eating and she taught me how to make spicy autumn pumpkin pies from an old family recipe. It was extra special because she had previously taught my daughter and my daughter had made them for the last few years. This year it just mom and daughter since my daughter was out of town at college.

My BFF invited my mom and I for Thanksgiving dinner with friends. I was very tired and a little out of it, but it was a very special day for both of us. Everybody was wonderful and we all managed to avoid the "stress" that family gatherings sometimes generate. The friendship and camaraderie was fantastic. We brought the pies we had made the night before and mom also had prepared scalloped potatoes and a green bean casserole to go with the ham and other wonderful dishes that our host and other guests had prepared.
